Get feedback from visitors

  10 Sep 2019

You can use UPG wordpress plugin to get feedback from visitors and store those records privately to database. I will try to explain, how could we do that.

Analytics and data gives us all sorts of insights into what our customers want from our business. But sometimes… don’t you wish you could get an answer straight from your customers?

It helps us understand the WHY behind what people are doing. Why are people using one feature three times as often as another? Why do most of your customers stop creating accounts on the last step? Or what causes customers to use your product less frequently (and eventually stop altogether)?

When we match customer feedback to what we’re seeing in our analytics, we get a much clearer picture of what’s going on. Then we’ll know how to fix problems and go after the right opportunities.

Guide to implement feedback system at front end using UPG Plugin.

These things need to be completed before we start.

  • Activate free UPG Plugin
  • Compete the UPG basic settings before we start.
  • Few pages are created automatically after UPG is activated. We will create our new page and replace it.

UPG comes with hand full of shortcodes to create our own form. Since it doesn’t have drag drop option as other plugins, we can extend it as advance we want.
You must refer to this form guide, as there are lots of input fields and all have different shortcode.

Above shortcode will create this form.

Before we start , we must decide what information we are going to receive from our visitors.
We will add common fields for demo propose. You can add or remove it as required.
Eg.
Full Name, Email Address, Subject, Message
Shortocde to generate these fields is as below.

  • Create a new page and give any title you wish. (Eg. Feedback Page)
  • Copy paste above shortcode into the content area.
  • Save or update it.
  • Go to UPG settings – > Form Settings Tab
  • Select ‘submission form of image page’ as ‘Feedback Page’ which you created.
  • Save settings
  • From wordpress’s Appearance > Menus, add ‘feedback page ‘
  • It’s ready !!!

When you go into the wordpress dashboard, under ‘User Post Gallery’ you will see all the feedback submitted by users.
You can also collect images and extra information.

It is up to you that you would like to display it into the frontend or not. To disable from frontend, just delete [upg-list] shortcode from main UPG page.
